With CMAC’s offices and employees located in seven cities across four countries and supporting clients across the globe, CMAC is committed to making a positive contribution to communities in which its staff live, work and play.

The new strategy builds on 16 years’ active participation, by CMAC, its senior management team and staff, in a diverse range of charity and community projects.

Over the years, CMAC has contributed to Every Action Has Consequences, a charity that educates the public about the dangers and consequences of violence, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Ribble Rivers Trust (RRT), an organisation dedicated to maintaining and protecting the river that flows through the heart of the community in which the CMAC Group head office is based, plus many more.

“CMAC Group has a passion to support the communities in which it serves, and our new strategy aligns perfectly with CMAC’s core values and those of our clients,” said Neil Micklethwaite, COO (Chief Operating Officer) at CMAC Group.

“We now have offices and employees in Manchester, Nottingham, London, Barcelona, Porto, and Athens in addition to our head office in Accrington, East Lancashire. As our business continues to expand across Europe and beyond, our commitment to employee inclusivity and driving positive change to local communities will remain a priority.”

CMAC Group has committed to a range of well-considered initiatives within their new strategy which include:

Dedicating over 4,000 hours of volunteer support every year
In January 2023 CMAC Group launched its “Make a Difference” initiative, giving their employees two paid days every year to volunteer for a cause that appeals to them personally.

A brand-new charity partnership with Community Rail Network
CMAC is playing its part in connecting communities through its affiliation with a growing grassroots movement made up of community rail partnerships and groups across Britain.

As CMAC specialises in transport for rail clients, their employees and customers, a partnership with CRN (Community Rail Network), a charitable organisation that encourages people and local communities to make more use of rail travel, and their local railway stations, is an ideal choice.

Making a positive impact through office-selected charities
Each of CMAC’s offices across Europe will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred local charity to receive a monetary donation from the business – the voting will take place next month.

“This is an important step in engaging with employees, embedding the concept of giving and charity within the culture of CMAC and supporting causes that are important to our people,” said Micklethwaite.

Growing together with local schools
CMAC’s team is empowering the next generation by promoting education amongst young people, through a partnership with Rhydding's School, local to CMAC HQ in Lancashire. The company has pledged two days this year to support with student development and learning. They will also be inspiring the next generation of talent by facilitating ‘Step into Work’ days, which have been a tremendous success in 2022.

In addition to the above, CMAC will continue to host informal charity fundraisers for different nationwide charities. The company pledges to match any donations made, doubling the monetary contributions.

CMAC’s founder and chairperson, Steve Turner, will be running the London Marathon in April 2023 to raise money for Whizz-Kids charity, money raised will help the charity to campaign for a more inclusive society and enable them to continue supporting young people who need a wheelchair to be mobile.
